近日市场研究机构Newzoo报告指出，2018年台湾游戏收入将高达13亿美元，在游戏氪金（消费）排行榜中位居全球第15名，游戏人口也将突破1450万人，超过全台湾2300万人口的一半！
根据调查显示，在台湾上网人群之中，过半数的男性和女性每个月至少玩一次手游，游戏人口比率也最为接近，分别是67%及65%。而玩主机游戏的人口最少，男性占35% 女性占20%；分析男女差异的话，主机类游戏和PC游戏男女比都相差15%左右，台湾女性显然对这两类游戏较无兴趣。
此外，在过去6个月中，有78%的人有在游戏中氪金，其中男性比例略高于女性。而超过一半（54%）的网络人群会观看游戏影片或直播等内容，其中有49%的人使用移动设备观看， 7%的人只看不玩，而有12%的人会关注电竞比赛，其中最受欢迎的游戏就是《英雄联盟》。
作为亚洲四小龙之一，台湾的经济实力有目共睹。同时，台湾有着十分雄厚的数码产业以及互联网产业基础，在此形势下，台湾人民对游戏自然是抱着十分前卫的眼光去看待。不过能够凭借2300万人创造13亿美元的游戏内消费，可见台湾人民的消费力实在不容小觑。
