根据 Sensor Tower 的数据显示,随着 Apple Arcade 的发布,截止 2019 年 9 月 30 日,iOS 平台上付费游戏营收的占比已经跌到了历史最低点,仅为 1.8%。
由于 Apple Arcade 尚未在中国地区上线,中国地区的数据不包含在内。
截止 2019 年 9 月 30 日,今年 App Store 付费游戏的总收入约为 3.373 亿美金(约合人民币 23.74 亿元)。
回溯历史,2015 年 App Store 付费游戏贡献了 6.419 亿美金(约合人民币 45.18 亿元),占 App Store 当年总营收的 5.4%。自那之后,iOS 平台付费游戏的营收就一直在下滑。到了 2018 年,付费游戏的营收滑落到 4.757 亿美金(约合人民币 33.49 亿元),仅占 App Store 总营收的 2.2%。
不仅如此,App Store 中的付费游戏发行数量也在大幅下降。
2014 年,共计有 39705 款付费游戏登陆 App Store,约占当年 App Store 新增游戏总量的 26.1%;而截止 2019 年 9 月 30 日,这一数字仅为 3255 款,占新增游戏总量的 7.3%。
2019 年 9 月,在 App Store 共计 399056 款游戏中,仅有 51663 款是付费游戏,占比为 12.9%。
上一次付费游戏数量大幅减少出现在 2018 年 7 月,当时 Apple 强制要求游戏厂商发行 64 位游戏应用,导致新增游戏量下降。但即便如此,当时在 App Store 中的 624579 款游戏中,仍有 108956 款付费游戏,占比为 17.4%。
相比之下,2014 年 1 月,苹果应用商店的 170697 款游戏中,有 74360 款付费游戏,占比高达 43.6%。
Apple Arcade 的冲击
Apple 所推出的 Apple Arcade 游戏订阅服务,包含 100 多款游戏,月度订阅费为 4.99 美金(约合人民币 35.12 元)。第一个月作为推广期,用户可以免费试用。Apple 认为,这是推动付费游戏增长的最佳解决方案。
此前资料显示,2015 年 App Store 中用户共花费 6.419 亿美金(约合人民币 45.18 亿元)购买付费游戏。如果按照这个订阅价格, Apple 想恢复到 2015 年的付费游戏销售水平的话,Apple Arcade 需要 1170 万付费用户在第一个月的免费体验结束后,支付 11 个月的订阅费用。
目前看来, Apple Arcade 尚未对对其它 iOS 付费游戏造成明显影响。
Apple Arcade 于 2019 年 9 月 19 日正式发布后的首月(截止 2019 年 10 月 18 日),iOS 付费游戏营收达到 3420 万美金(约合人民币 2.4 亿元),比发布前一个月(2019 年 8 月 20 日至 9 月 18 日)的 3920 万美金(约合人民币 2.76 亿元)下降了 13%。但这次月度营收变化通常归咎于暑假消费季等因素。
尽管 2019 年同期的营收降幅高于 2018 年,但在 Apple Arcade 推出当月,付费游戏的营收同比基本持平,增幅略低于 1%。
