据外媒消息，企业家、科技大拿马斯克此前曾发文，表达自己对《杀出重围》系列的喜爱，同时用游戏设定隐喻美国政府。
而近日接受媒体采访的《杀出重围》主创编剧之一的奥斯汀·格罗斯曼直言并不喜欢他。
“（马斯克表述的）这种政治和社会讽刺能够在《杀出重围》和《羞辱》上找到共同点，”格罗斯曼表示，他此前也参与了《羞辱》的剧本创作，“这确实是马斯克会喜欢的东西，有点诡异……所以这可能是它留下的最长久、最糟糕的遗产。”
格罗斯曼指出：马斯克似乎没有意识到自己在游戏宇宙中对应的位置。以他的智力应该能分辨出谁才是真正的反派：“他绝对不是JC·丹顿。”
