据外媒Insider Gaming爆料，育碧新《幽灵行动》游戏将放弃自家的引擎，转而采用Epic的虚幻5引擎。
在最近的Insider Gaming每周播客节目中，主持人Tom
Henderson说：“这个游戏将采用虚幻引擎。其实，《幽灵行动》之前就是虚幻引擎，但后来他们改用了Anvil和Snowdrop。我不知道他们为什么这么做，我猜，是为了重返本源那种感觉?看起来他们这一次要采用虚幻5了，还是挺有意思的。”

《幽灵行动》系列上一款游戏是《幽灵行动：断点》，采用育碧AnvilNext
2.0引擎开发，该引擎也曾被用于开发了《极限国度》和《彩虹六号：异种》。
育碧的核心引擎在2020年改名为育碧Anvil，成为《刺客信条：英灵殿》、《刺客信条：幻景》、《刺客信条：影》、《碧海黑帆》和《芬尼克斯传说》的开发平台。该公司的其他引擎还有大名鼎鼎的Snowdrop，最近被用于开发《不羁联盟》、《星球大战：亡命之徒》以及将来的《细胞分裂：重制版》。
