上周，《真人快打2》真人电影发布预告，游戏的选角引发了巨大争议，其中最严重的莫过于围绕角色Jade（杰德）的风波。
这位忍者战士29岁美国女演员Tati Gabrielle饰演，她此前出演过多部知名影视剧与游戏作品，最近刚在HBO剧集《最后生还者》中饰演诺拉，并主演了顽皮狗新作《星际：异端先知》。与她此前的形象一致，Tati Gabrielle在《真人快打2》中依旧以光头造型亮相，然而这一造型却引发了许多网友的不满，认为与原始形象差距过大，不够还原。
预告片中Jade的出镜时间不足五秒，甚至一句台词都没有，但Gabrielle的光头造型还是让部分观众“预判”她无法诠释好这个角色。
不过，有一位业内人士已经完整看过本片，导演Timo Tjahjanto（非本片导演）近日在社交平台上公开表达了对这场争议的不解，并声援Tati Gabrielle。
Tjahjanto表示：“Tati是一位非常有魅力的女性，她在电影中的表现也非常出色。很多人都还没看电影就大加批评，这实在是反应过度了。”
Tjahjanto也承认他并不清楚为何电影会为Jade设计光头造型，但这并未影响他对角色的观感。他认为Tati Gabrielle版的Jade与Kitana在银幕上的互动非常出色，是“极具化学反应”的组合。
