4月17日消息，据《韩国先驱报》报道，韩国公平贸易委员会开始对谷歌Play发起调查，原因是这款应用商店涉嫌滥用市场支配地位，要求当地游戏发行商只能在Play商店首发新款游戏。
消息人士称，韩国公平贸易委员会已接触当地游戏公司，以查明谷歌是否曾强迫和要求它们“只能在特定平台发布游戏”，或者“不要在其他软件商店发布游戏”。此外，公平贸易委员会还在调查，如果游戏公司不遵从此类要求，它们是否会面临负面后果。
在韩国，超过90%的人使用Android智能设备，而谷歌Play在应用商店生态系统中占据了主导地位。
据韩国移动互联网协会上月发布的报告，在去年韩国手机软件的销售量中，谷歌Play商店占到了60.7%的份额，而在软件销售中，游戏占到了绝大多数比重。
相比之下，苹果App Store的市场份额为24.5%；韩国电信、SK电信和LG Uplus联合运营的One Store份额仅有11.6%。
去年，韩国几款热门游戏，包括NCSoft公司的《Lineage M》和Netmarble公司的《Lineage 2 Revolution》，只通过谷歌Play和苹果App Store进行了发行，但并未登陆One Store。
此外，即使一些手机游戏登陆了One Store，也是在同款游戏已经登陆谷歌和苹果应用商店一段时间之后。
