育碧CEOYves Guillemot在财报会议上表示，《彩虹六号：围攻》将由腾讯在中国地区重新发布。
Yves表示，从2018年开始，育碧的部分游戏产品将由腾讯代理，在中国市场重新发布，负责产品的本地化修改、发行和运营工作。其中包括《彩虹六号：围攻》和部分手游产品。
《彩虹六号：围攻》是由育碧蒙特利尔工作室研发的反恐题材射击游戏，于2015年11月28日起正式登陆登陆PC，Xbox One和PS4平台。4月中旬，育碧官方宣布《彩虹六号：围攻》玩家用户数量突破3000万，这一数据在2017年8月时为2000万人，12月时为2500万人。
在育碧CEO宣布代理合作之前，腾讯曾在3月出资约3.69亿欧元收购育碧5%股份，并与其达成战略合作。同在2018年3月初，腾讯对部分WeGmae玩家发放了《彩虹六号：围攻》的用户调查问卷。
目前，腾讯已拥有《堡垒之夜》《绝地求生》两款战术竞技类端游，并在授权下推出两款绝地求生手游，并在海外市场开启商业化。
腾讯财报显示，2018年第一季度，腾讯游戏业务共收入358亿元，网络游戏收入287.78。战术竞技仍是腾讯目前最关注的品类。腾讯计划提升尚未商业化的战术竞技类游戏的用户规模，推迟在中国商业化，继续大力推广，预计短期内会对手游收入造成影响。
