3月8日消息，熊猫直播官微今天中午发布消息正式宣布停服，并称熊猫直播主站流浪计划，第一阶段开启。工程师请逐渐断开与母星连接。注意，请务必保持已连接的服务正常。
在该条微博下面，包括熊猫直播工程师、运营、策划等多个部门的多个员工都留言表示不舍，还有的员工评论称“等待归队”。
昨天，熊猫直播创始团队成员兼COO张菊元在公司内部工作群发文称，在最终没有解决掉资金缺口的情况下，已经做出遣散员工的决定。张菊元表示，从2017年5月最后一次融资后，长达22个月的时间没有任何外部资金注入，管理层在过去两年努力寻找了至少5个潜在的投资方，但最终没有解决掉资金的缺口。
张菊元指出，作为直播平台，熊猫的运营需要负担高昂的带宽以及众多主播的高额工资，整个行业在追求赢利的路上都在踯躅前行，当我们为了做到收支平衡不断缩小自身之后，新的融资仍然无法到位，在当前的投资环境以及垂直领域的不断恶化的情况下，熊猫的空间在不断缩小，当坚持都成了某种程度的消耗，我们无法对所有的努力一一致歉。
