在《死或生：沙滩排球维纳斯假期》迎来7.5周年庆典之际，系列制作人樱田泰典近日接受采访，对比了这款长期运营的网游与最新发售的买断制恋爱模拟游戏《维纳斯璀璨假期：死或生Xtreme》的市场表现。虽然未透露具体销量数据，但樱田向《Fami通》表示，这款定价60美元的单机游戏“整体上取得了成功”，不过续作开发仍需观望玩家反馈。
由于《维纳斯璀璨假期：死或生Xtreme》采用了成本高昂的3D沉浸技术(包括角色面部与身体的动态追踪系统)，光荣特库摩短期内难以承诺续作。樱田也坦言，游戏仅在日本、韩国等亚洲地区发售导致知名度有限，且部分玩家因心仪角色未登场而持观望态度。
虽然本作拥有维纳斯好感度系统、进阶拍照模式和照片评分机制等特色玩法，但仅收录六名角色的阵容远不及网游版的规模。樱田希望更多玩家能体验这款作品对恋爱模拟类型的独特诠释，Team Ninja未来也将持续推广游戏特色。
目前PS4/PS5与Steam平台的《维纳斯璀璨假期：死或生Xtreme》暂未规划DLC内容。
